The GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody (CoC) standard ensures the authenticity of products bearing a GLOBALG.A.P. claim or featuring the GGN label logo, verifying their origin from a certified production process.

Designed for supply chain stakeholders, the CoC standard enables the demonstration of management systems safeguarding the segregation, identification, and traceability of products originating from GLOBALG.A.P. certified production processes. This certification is particularly vital for companies involved in handling or trading products with a GLOBALG.A.P. claim, including producers, packers, brokers, processors, logistics firms, retailers, and restaurants, along with subcontractors handling these products.

CoC certification is available for companies (legal entities) under Option 1. In cases where a company operates multiple sites, each site must undergo individual auditing. However, the certification does not extend to certain stakeholders, including producers with IFA-certified production processes, companies discontinuing the chain of custody, and retailers exclusively dealing with consumer-ready, tamper-proof packaged products originating from GLOBALG.A.P. certified production processes. Freight forwarders without product ownership are also exempt from CoC certification.

Notably, all products falling under the IFA scope of plants are covered by this standard.
