GLOBALG.A.P. is an internationally recognized certification scheme for good agricultural practice, designed to ensure that agricultural products are produced safely and sustainably, taking into account environmental responsibility, worker welfare, and food safety. It provides a set of standards for the agri-food sector that producers and other stakeholders in the supply chain can follow to meet the demands of modern consumers and markets.
The certification confirms that food production processes comply with international best practices, reducing risks related to foodborne incidents, environmental damage, and social inequality.
GLOBALG.A.P. certification is particularly important as it enhances consumer trust, ensures compliance with regulations, and opens market opportunities, especially for producers looking to export their products to global markets. With growing concern for sustainability and traceability, this certification guarantees transparency throughout the supply chain, strengthening long-term relationships between producers and retailers.
Q-CERT is accredited by ESYD since 2019 and is an active member of GLOBALG.A.P. It certifies the majority of producers in Greece. Based on GLOBALG.A.P.‘s evaluation, it ranks first among Greek certification bodies and is among the top 10 globally.
GLOBALG.A.P. Certification Integrated Farm Assurance for Fruits and Vegetables (IFA FV)
The Integrated Farm Assurance certification for fruits and vegetables under the GLOBALG.A.P. scheme is one of the GFSI-recognized certifications and focuses on good agricultural practices at the primary production level. It follows a holistic approach covering key elements such as food safety, environmental sustainability, worker welfare, production processes, and traceability. The IFA v6 for fruits and vegetables has two versions: IFA v6 Smart, suitable for most producers, adopting GLOBALG.A.P.‘s philosophy in its entirety, and IFA v6 GFS, designed for producers who require GFSI-recognized certification.
GLOBALG.A.P. Certification Integrated Farm Assurance for Combinable Crops (IFA CC)
The Integrated Farm Assurance certification for arable crops (IFA CC) under the GLOBALG.A.P. scheme covers the core issues of food safety, environmental sustainability, worker welfare, production processes, and traceability. It addresses the unique needs of arable crop producers at the farm level, covering all stages of production and a wide range of crops harvested mechanically, such as cereals, legumes, animal feed, and extracts (oil, sugar, starch, etc.), whether for cooked or processed human or animal consumption or for industrial use. Certification options are available for individual producers (single or multi-site producers) and producer groups, including smallholders.
GLOBALG.A.P. Certification Integrated Farm Assurance for Plant Propagation Material (IFA PPM)
The Integrated Farm Assurance certification for plant propagation material (IFA PPM) under the GLOBALG.A.P. scheme for responsible agricultural practices covers all stages of production. It is based on a holistic approach and covers the entire production process, from environmental conservation and waste management to worker health, safety, and welfare. The standard is available for a wide range of producers and nurseries worldwide, including seed or young plant producers. The standard can be applied to various production systems, from open farms to greenhouses. Certification options are available for individual producers (single or multi-site producers) and producer groups, including smallholders.
GLOBALG.A.P. Certification Integrated Farm Assurance for Flowers and Ornamentals (IFA F&O)
The Integrated Farm Assurance certification for flowers and ornamentals (IFA F&O) under the GLOBALG.A.P. scheme focuses on responsible agricultural practices at all stages of production. It is based on a holistic approach that covers key issues such as environmental sustainability, worker welfare, production processes, and traceability. With requirements on soil and water management, crop protection, plant nutrition, biodiversity, environmental sustainability, and worker welfare, the standard allows producers to measure their progress, demonstrate their commitment to improving the sustainability of surrounding ecosystems, and improve the efficiency of their agricultural activities. It is available to the full range of producers worldwide, covering various production systems from open fields to greenhouses.
GLOBALG.A.P. Certification Crops for Processing (CfP)
The Crops for Processing certification (CfP) under the GLOBALG.A.P. scheme addresses responsible agricultural practices and covers the production of crops intended for further processing. The standard eliminates redundant steps usually undertaken by both the producer and processor. It is a non-accredited on-farm standard for producers of combined crops of fruits and vegetables. Designed for producers providing products exclusively for further processing in the supply chain—whether freezing, juicing, baking, milling, pre-cooking, and more, down to ingredients for animal feed—the standard takes into account the unique risks at the farm level from the production of crops for processing and incorporates measures taken by processors into the agreed-upon control points, reducing the repetition of production steps.
GLOBALG.A.P. Certification Chain of Custody (CoC)
The Chain of Custody (CoC) certification ensures that any product sold with the GLOBALG.A.P. claim or bearing the GGN logo indeed originates from a GLOBALG.A.P.-certified production process. It allows stakeholders in the supply chain to demonstrate management systems that protect the segregation, identification, and traceability of products derived from GLOBALG.A.P.-certified production processes. It is an essential tool for any company handling or trading products originating from GLOBALG.A.P.-certified production processes. The standard applies to a wide range of company types and sizes in the supply chain selling products with a GLOBALG.A.P. claim, including subcontractors handling the products.
